7 Best Webcam Stands for Your Desk 2023: Mounts For Streaming and Video Calls

Looking for the best webcam stand to use on your desk? One that’s strong, won’t wobble, and easy to maneuver to the perfect angle? I’ve got you!

If the quality of your internal webcam won’t cut it and an external webcam won’t clip nicely to your laptop, a webcam stand is an ideal solution.

Whether you are on Zoom calls, filming or streaming video for your fans, teaching cookery classes, and more, a reliable webcam stand is essential to give your videos a professional look in a decluttered WFH setup.

Here are my 7 recommendations for the best light webcam stands for your desk and office - for streaming, video calls, overhead filming, and more.

I chose these webcam arms based on function and build quality, plus features like maximum height adjustment, maximum weight bearing, webcam compatibility, and customer recommendations.

Note: All of the webcams featured are compatible with the most popular webcams and webcam brands, including the Logitech C92X series, Logitech Brio, Microsoft LifeCam, NetGear Arlo, plus any webcam or device with a standard 1/4” screw hole, including GoPros.

Best Overall Webcam Stand: Pipishell 25-inch Webcam Stand

The Pipishell 25-inch webcam stand is amongst the most popular out there today, and for good reason - it's long, versatile, and offers good value for money.

Its gooseneck stand is 25 inches long and can bend to almost any shape, so you'll always be able to find the angle you need.

However, the adjustment does require two hands due to the stiffness of the arm, and precision adjustments can be tricky as a result. And since the arm is so long, vibrations can be an issue when it’s at full stretch.

Best is to find what works and don’t touch it thereafter, if you can help it.

The Pipishell webcam stand’s desk clamp is substantial, with a maximum width of 2.3 inches, so it's guaranteed to fit even the thickest of desktops. Width-wise, the padded portion of the clamp is approximately 1-inch, while the entirety of the clamp opening is a little under 2 inches.

The Pipishell mount can hold a maximum weight of 1.1lbs, so it's perfectly suited to hold almost any ordinary webcam. Its 360 degree swivel ball head means your webcam is free to rotate in any direction, perfect for lining up just the right angle.

If you want to record or stream with a GoPro, the Pippishell webcam stand has you covered, too. The product arrives with a GoPro head mount that is capable of holding the GoPro Hero 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1.

However, large cameras and DSLRs are a no-go with this one.

What Customers Say

“I love this stand. Bought it so I can play card games via webcam and the stability is great. Don’t bump the table and you’ll be fine.”

Best Webcam Stand With Light: Amada Webcam Light Stand With Selfie Ring Light

The Amada Webcam Light Stand offers a 2-in-1 solution: two gooseneck arms that can bend to any shape, one with a webcam mount and the other with a powerful selfie ring light.

The ring light isn’t big or powerful enough to film stuff like make-up videos or to light a large area, but to spotlight your face for video calls or streaming, it’s just about ideal.

The webcam mount is 25.6 inches long, with a 360 degree rotating lazy bracket clip, and is compatible with any webcam with a standard 1/4 screw hole, including the Logitech C922x, C922, and Microsoft LifeCam.

If you want to attach your phone for live streaming instead, the Amada webcam stand comes with a universal phone holder that works with all iPhones and Samsung smartphones up to 3.7 inches wide.

The webcam ring light has 3 different hues (white, warm yellow, or warm yellow + white) and 10 levels of brightness so that you can adjust it exactly as you need.

Lighting options are controlled via a few simple buttons on the power cord (55 inches long), and the light is powered by USB, so no need to scramble around for batteries!

Reasons to Buy

  • A webcam stand and lighting all-in-one

  • Fits webcams, GoPros, iPhones, and more

  • Ring light with 3 modes and 10 brightness settings

Reasons to Avoid

  • Arm can be stiff to manoeuver

What Customers Say

If you’re looking for a strong and sturdy webcam stand for daily use for Zoom meetings, you can’t go far wrong with this stand from InnoGear.

Made from premium metal, this webcam stand features a sturdy metal base that has been compared to feeling like cast iron, so you can bet it won’t be wobbling around on your desk or knocked over easily.

This webcam stand isn’t the tallest around (extending to a maximum of 21 inches), but you do get an adjustable height pole and a flexible neck for a wealth of camera angle options.

The InnoGear webcam stand includes a 360-degree rotating tripod head, with a standard 1/4” screw thread that will fit plenty of devices and cameras, including the Logitech C920.

Reasons to Buy

  • Super sturdy webcam stand with a weighted base

  • Adjustable height pole and flexible neck

  • Fits all popular webcams

Reasons to Avoid

  • Not the tallest webcam stand out there

What Customers Say

I was presently surprised with this stand. Most of the desk stands I have used in the past have been very light weight and feel very flimsy and fragile. This on the other hand is completely the opposite. It is very solid and rugged.”

If you’re looking for a webcam stand that is great for Twitch streaming, product demos, online teaching, and more, then the KDD webcam stand could be the ideal solution.

The KDD webcam stand consists of 3 interconnected arms with gear joints - each which can be individually adjusted up and down by 180-degrees and turned by 360-degrees, which makes it incredibly versatile when you’re adjusting for just the right shot. Simply find your position and twist the knob to fix in place.

The KDD webcam is tall, too - stretched fully, it reaches 25”, while with the arms folded completely, the height can be as low as 9.5”.

Described by customers as sturdy and “solid as a rock”, the KDD webcam stand includes adapters for both 1/4” and 5/8” screws, so that you can attach not just webcams, but DSLR cameras, GoPros, Blue Yeti mics, projectors, and more.

What’s more, the product also includes a phone tripod mount that is suitable for any smartphone between 2.2” and 3.5” in width, including iPhones and Samsung devices.

Reasons to Buy

  • Unique design and very stable

  • Adapters for many cameras and phone mount included

  • Perfect for streaming

Reasons to Avoid

  • Ball head isn’t as strong as it could be, but is easily replaceable.

What Customers Say

"Perfect for overhead shots! I purchased to get overhead shots while cooking and making foods in my kitchen. It attaches easily to my counter tops & island. I alternate easily between my phone and camera.”

If you need a webcam stand that is small and light enough to take with you wherever you go, then the Lume Cube 30" Adjustable Webcam stand is just the ticket. Fully collapsed it's just 7.5 inches long and weighs 13.3oz.

The desk tripod on the Lume Cube extends anywhere between 12" and 30" inches tall, making it great for video calls, no matter how high or low the desk you find yourself sitting at.

Its fully rotating 360-degree mount lets you turn and angle your webcam in just the right position.

The Lume Cube's build quality is notable too. It's made from high grade aluminum, with rubberized tripod legs to help the webcam stand steady on your desk without damaging its surface.

The tripod legs splay out to allow for additional height adjustment and the position is locked by turning the metal ring on the outside of the tripod.

The Lume Cube 30” webcam stand is compatible with Logitech models including the Logitech C925e, C922x, C930e, C922, C930, C920, C615, and more.

Reasons to Buy

  • Compact and lightweight design

  • Premium build quality

  • Perfect for travel

Reasons to avoid

  • Adjustment limited to vertical up-and-down

What Customers Say

“This is the perfect stand for webcam use where you want to place your camera in front of your monitor at the perfect eye level height for video conferencing.

I'm impressed with the solid aluminum design, adjustability options, and ease of use. I bought this for video conferencing with my webcam but will also have no problem trusting this stand to safely hold up my much heavier DSLR camera in space-confined situations, it is plenty strong enough for both.”

The majority of webcam stands offer a bendable metal goose neck for angling your shots. They're good, but are known to droop or slip very occasionally. If you're after something bulkier and traditionally more stable, then something like Oxendure's Webcam Stand is a great choice.

Its main feature is the all-metal support arm with a double thick suspension spring, which offers high stability and durability whether you're filming, streaming, or on video calls.

The Oxendure webcam stand is compatible with all 1/4" thread webcams and devices, including the Logitech C920, Logitech Brio, GoPro Max, Microsoft Lifecam, and more. Its turntable is equipped with 360-degree rotation.

With a 22" extendable range and a weighted base for stability, Oxendure's webcam stand has a load capacity of 1.76 lbs. This makes it capable of handling not just webcams, but weightier items like DSLR cameras.

However, some users report that the stand has a tendency to tip if it is extended fully to the side (rather than straight up) whilst holding a heavy camera.

Reasons to Buy

  • Strong and stable design

  • Perfect for video calls

  • Traditional design

Reasons to Avoid

  • Base not weighty enough when heavier cameras are extended out to the side, causing tipping.

What Customers Say

“I spent $$$ on other things, this works best. I want my webcam at eye level to record videos. I have tried everything, including expensive "center cams" and pricey mounts. Let me save you a lot of time and money.

Mount your webcam (I use a Logitech Brio) on this and raise the arm when I'm ready to record your video. Otherwise, I move the arm to its lowest position and my webcam is out of the way. This is a cheap, simple way to improve eye contact with your viewers by keeping your camera at eye level when needed.”

If you’re looking for a webcam stand primarily to film overhead and directly down at your desk, the Pictron Vijim Magic Arm makes a great choice for online lessons, cooking, showing off documents, and more.

Along with the main desk clamp and vertical stand (adjustable between 17.3” and 41.3” in height), the product comes with a two-section detachable pole that can either be connected to make one long 50cm pole (that can be angled at the join in any direction), or two separate poles for holding two separate items - like a camera and light.

There are three 1/4” ball heads in total - on the top of the pole and one at each end of the auxiliary arms, so that you can connect all manner of webcams, cameras, lights, and more. Each single arm can hold items up to a weight of 2.2 lbs (1kg), easily strong enough for webcams or even the average DSLR.

The Pictron Vijim Magic Arm also comes included with a phone mount, which opens between 2.2” and 3.9” inches, making it suitable for most smartphones.

Some customers report wobble if the arm is disturbed at its absolute maximum height, but this hasn’t been a problem for the majority of users.

Reasons to Buy

  • Perfect for overhead video recording and streaming

  • Can hold up to three pieces of equipment at once

  • Made from strong aluminum alloy

Reasons to Avoid

  • Can be a bit wobbly if used at absolute maximum height.

What Customers Say

“I use this arm connected to a webcam arm so I can get my entire DJ setup in view when streaming. I'm able to capture two turntables, and the mixer in the entire Logitech C920 webcam shot using this arm. It's very simple to use and was just what I needed.

I could imagine it being good for people that are live streaming cooking as well. Anything where you need to get a top down view of what you're doing. Arts and crafts, etc. Highly recommend!”

Webcam Stands Frequently Asked Questions

Here are answers to some of the most common queries customers have about webcam stands, and the answers to them.

Why Use A Webcam Stand?

While an internal laptop or one clipped to the top of a monitor might work for some people, a webcam stand provides myriad more options when it comes to maneuverability and shot composition when using webcams like the Logitech Brio.

Benefits of Webcam Stands

Attaching a webcam to a stand and being able to rotate and angle the camera to any position helps make you look your best on video calls, allows you to film videos, stream, host product demos, and more, in a much more dynamic and professional manner.

Attach your webcam or another device to the stand and you’ll be ready to film and look your best in a matter of seconds. Some webcam stands also allow you to attach multiple devices, such as lights, microphones or projectors, which can further enhance the quality of your recording.

Types of Webcam Stands

There are several kinds of webcam stands available, and tons of different variations - but they mainly fall into three categories:

  • Webcam stands with a clamp made to be secured to the edge of a desk.

  • Webcam stands with a heavy circular base, made to be placed on your desktop.

  • Webcam stands with a tripod base.

Within these categories, you’ll find webcam stands with flexible goose-neck arms, others with rigid metal arms, and more again with spring-held arms. How rigid and strong each arm is depends on the quality of the item, the angle of the arm, and what type of webcam or device(s) you have attached to it.

Every webcam stand on this list feature at least one universal 1/4” ball head, allowing you to easily screw on a webcam, GoPro, DSLR camera, and more.

Webcam Stand Buying Guide: What to Consider

I’ve covered the main breath of web cam stands available above, and which is best for specific uses. However, to break the options down further, here are the key elements to keep an eye out for:

  • Type: As I’ve covered, webcam stands come with flexible metal arms, straight arms that can be angled at their joints, or fully vertical poles with no adjustment along the vertical axis.

  • Clamp or base?: Do you want a webcam stand that sits on your desk, one that clamps to the table, or a tripod?

  • Size: Depending on your specific need, the flexibility and height range of a webcam stand will need to be a consideration.
Commonly, webcam stands range anywhere from 7” all the way up to 40+”, yet for most models the full range is somewhere in between.

  • Stability: Not all webcam stands are manufactured equally. Some are capable of supporting bulky DSLR cameras pointed at all manner of angles, but others are best suited to a simple bend of the arm with a small webcam attached. Do check the weight limit for the webcam stand you’re buying, and that it is sturdy enough to support your needs. The last thing you want is wobble or jerkiness during recording or video calls.

  • Compatibility: I made sure to mention early on that the webcam stands on this post all support the most popular webcams from manufacturers like Logitech and Microsoft. And they will all also work fine with any device that uses a 1/4” ball head screw. However, if you’re wanting to shoot with a GoPro or phone camera, then look for webcam stands that support these options, and perhaps even arrive packaged with the adapters you need to get started straight away.

  • Size: Some webcam stands, especially those with round bases, will take up more space on your desktop than those with desk clams. However, these do tend to offer more stability. On the other hand, webcams with desk clamps are great space-savers, but they can suffer from shakiness if vibrated unexpectedly.
